I’m Justin Schaffer, a filmmaker and former game maker based in Denver, Colorado. I first discovered film through skateboarding, punk rock counterculture, and the DIY videos I made as a teenager. That world of rebellion and experimentation continues to shape my approach to storytelling today.

Eight Set Films is an homage to that beginning. The name comes from an eight set of stairs, the biggest obstacle I ever cleared on a skateboard, and the story circle, a framework built on eight steps of transformation. Both reflect the belief that meaningful stories are shaped by challenge and change.

Eight Set Films focuses on narrative drama and human stories of emotional depth, exploring the moments of growth that define who we are and our connection to others.

Each film is a continuation of that first leap down the eight set, a moment of uncertainty followed by the achievement of reaching what once felt impossible.
